What’s worse than running out of printer ink when the kids remember homework due TOMORROW and it’s bedtime? Not much. Epson has come out with a new printer called the Ecotank, which comes with enough ink in the box to last 2 years and frees you from never-ending cartridge-buying, as the low-cost ink comes in bottles that you actually pour into the printer.
You can print up to 4000 black/6500 color pages – the equivalent to about 20 ink cartridge sets. In addition to its dramatic in-box cost savings, replacement ink bottles are also at an ultra-low cost, each bottle cost as low as $12.99.
I had the chance to review an Epson EcoTank ET-2550, a great new CES award-winning innovation and the whole family gives it a huge thumbs up. My husband is particularly not ‘handy’, and he set up the printer all by himself in minutes (this is a huge testament to the ease of installation!!!!). The LCD screen is easy to navigate, and the wifi worked like a charm. The quality of the printing in both colour and black and white was excellent, and the style and feel of the printer was sleek and looks great in the office.
We downloaded the Epson app as well, so we can print from a phone or ipad and the app, as well, was very straightforward and easy to navigate.
So the ink issues are now forever fixed, and we can print colour as if it were just black and white without the worry! Now we just have to work on them doing their homework earlier in the day…
