The Canadian Down Syndrome Society was established in 1987 as a resource linking parents and professionals through advocacy, education and information. Their mission is to ensure equitable opportunities for all Canadians with Down syndrome. The CDSS strives to raise awareness of Down syndrome in the community and advocate on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome.
The CDSS has many resources available to individuals looking for information about Down syndrome, inclusion, and social justice. This information can be accessed through their toll-free information line 1-800-883-5608, quarterly newsletter, brochures and growing resource centre. They also offer other material about Down syndrome through their website www.cdss.ca.
