Thanksgiving and Christmas are upon us, and it just dawned on me that my home will be filled with family and guests in a few days. We are all super busy, and after the first months back to school, my home is certainly caked in a mild film of grime. A few rooms certainly need a little ‘renovation’.
15 Minute Cleaning Plan
Around the House:
1. Give each family member a basket and scavenge around the house for items that have not made it back to their ‘homes’.
2. Simmer a pot of water, cloves and cinnamon sticks on the stove.
3. Take a few minutes in every room to glance around and see if there is clutter that can be eliminated or donated.
4. The front entryway and front door is what visitors first see in your home – use a Magic Eraser to wipe down the front door, and do a 5 minute floor wash in your foyer. Plus, getting on your hands and knees doubles as exercise.
Kitchen:
1. Swipe a Magic Eraser over the kitchen sink and faucet until it sparkles.
2. Use your vacuum to quickly suck dust out of corners, off lampshades and window sills.
3. Use Mr. Clean Concentrated Cleaner to wipe the sticky messed away inside the fridge. And remind myself never to let the kids pour the maple syrup.
4. Wipe all light switches and knobs with a Magic Eraser.
Bathrooms:
1. Wipe down bathtubs and shower doors with a magic eraser.
2. Tip: after jumping out of the shower, use your wet towel to do a quick wipe of the floors.
My tip is to grab a big bag and toss all the odd droppings of my family into it and toss in the closet, if they can’t find something later I tell them to check there 😀
mine is doing a tidy every day, removing clutter and wiping down counters and door handles
Baby wipes! OMG, these are perfect for any cleanups as well as just doing stuff around the house, great for baseboards, ceiling fans you name just about!

Crank up the music and pick up what looks messy the most in each room. Then sweep or if you have many pets like myself, vacuum as well. Music makes you move faster.
throw everything under the bed!
If you don’t have a dishwasher (like me), and you’ve got a sink full of dirty dishes (and you’re not using the oven), throw all your dirty dishes in there stacked in a large casserole dish & hang a tea towel over the handle so no one can see in there!
take all the clutter to a spare room, and shut the door – out of sight, out of mind.
My best 15 minute cleaning tip is to always have a rag handy in the shower and every time you are done you shower take a few minutes to wipe it down while it is still wet. Really helps to reduce soap scum and keep the shower looking clean.
My tip is to clean the bathroom and spray the house with febreeze to make it smell fresh and clean!
My best tip is dry mop your floors and tidy up bathroom
Put the toilet bowl cleaner, go do some other stuff, when you come back the scrubbing is minimal.
Make sure entrance is super clean, bathroom has clean towels and sparkling faucet/mirrors, kitchen is clean and no clutter
I get out the Mr. clean and clean the bathroom. It leaves a fresh smell.
Hide things and go 🙂
Run a lint roller over couches to get rid pet hair!
My best 15 min cleaning tip is to get a duster and start in the lowest level of your house. Quickly dust all surfaces and make your way up.
i love using a magic eraser for cleaning certain things
Pour a bowl of hot water and add some Mr Clean, I do some wiping down counters and walls and it makes the house smell so good. I do this 15 mins before guests arrive for a clean smell throughout the house.
Make sure bathroom(s) are clean and dim the light elsewhere.
A quick dusting, sweeping up and room spray
Clean the floors and polish everything. It will make everything else look cleaner.
My best tip is clean of the counter in the bathroom and kitchen.
Declutter and swiffer the walls and ceilings!
tidy as you go!
Start with the washrooms and kitchen and then work your way around the house.
Take a disinfecting wipes and do a quick wipes of door, counters, light switches in the house.
I do a quick tidy up of the living room, putting away any items that are not supposed to be out! Also a quick wipe down of the coffee table.

Plan ahead and always tackle one job at a time.
I like to vacuum and then tidy up the house quickly.
Baby wipes can clean pretty much anything in a jiffy.
quick sweep and wiping down the counters
I do a quick wipe down of the kitchen counters and mop the floor with the steamer.
BTW, I’m trying to subscribe to your newsletter but it takes me to an error page. Please fix this 🙁
clean as you go ..its easiet yo keep up with the work if you clean up your messes behind you
If I find out someone is coming over it will take me 15min. to quickly vacuum the livingroom, sweep fast, give the bathroom a once over and a few squirts of fabric freshener and we are done!!
Empty the garbages and clean around the pet dishes, plug in the scentsy

My tip is to clean and clear off the counters. It’ll make the kitchen look bigger.
wipe up your floors, if they are clean the whole house seems clean
I would give all my family members a list of chores to do in 15 mins.
Keep a large container in an enclosed space (such as a closet) in which to toss last minute pick=ups to be put away properly later…when you have more time.
do a quick gathering of things off the table and put them in a drawer, wipe down bathroom and put dishes in dishwasher 🙂
clean up the bathroom
Vacuum the rug and do a quick dust. Also clean the toilet and sink in the bathroom.
My best tip is to multitask. I get the dishwasher started, laundry started, I put a cup of hot water in the microwave for 5 minutes while I am wiping up counters and the table so the steam softens food for easy clean up.
Use the moistened wipes, so quick and convenient!
Wipe down the bathroom with wipes, sweep the floor & remove all recycling out of the kitchen.
Get as many people in the house to clean at the same time, many hands makes light work!
Use a basket everyday and make a 15 minute sweep of the house for items out of place to put them back.
Wipe down kitchen countertops and remove clutter.
My best tip is to clear all clutter from horizontal surfaces and make sure the washrooms are tidy.
Clean as you go
Use scrub and choose right cleaning detergent for the purpose.
Wipes are easier to clean with other than a sponge
I always do a quick wipe down of the toilet for sure…and sometimes use febreeze in case of any doggie smell…A quick vacuum often.
Put things back in their place at the end of each day, this way when it is time to clean, there will be less to move around, and you can focus on the cleaning.
Tidy up as you go along. For example: if you’re cooking and have some extra time in between, do some dishes up. it makes cleaning later a lot easier!
My 15 min cleaning tip is to sweep & spot treat where needed (floors, counters etc)
Do one room a day!
Mopping the floor, it instantly shines up your floor and everything looks cleaner and brighter!
I’d have to say do what’s most important–kitchen sink, counters, bathroom sink, toilet. In the living room, I shove all the clutter on the table and end tables, etc, into a box, as well as all the clutter on my kitchen table, and put it in my spare room. I then deal with it later.
I do a little bit of cleaning each day so it’s not so overwhelming all at once. In 15mins I would try to de clutter in the areas the company will be in.
Break out the air fresheners!
I make myself clean while waiting for the microwave to ding, or the kettle to boil. It’s surprising how much you can do in a few minutes.
I always think that giving the bathroom a quick clean and the kitchen a nice freshen up helps the house look amazing quickly
My best 15 minute cleaning tip is to use natural products such as vinegar and baking powder.I make a paste of baking soda and water to cjean inside my oven..
I like to do what’s called a quick cleaning frenzy when I know guests are coming over. its probably around 15 mins! I have a scentsy warmer that’s always going so I don’t need to worry about scent. First I go around picking things up, than I do a quickie dust. And I use baby wipes to clean sink and toilet. and then maybe dishes and done.
Our 15 min Clean up is putting on some music and cleaning for 3 songs while dancing around. Thanks for the chance 🙂
