It’s a magic machine. Once I learned how to make Vitamix bolognaise sauce, pastas were healthier and meal prep twice as fast. (I didn’t tell the family that part). Using canned organic tomatoes as a base, raw carrots, garlic, onions and some hidden healthy boosters, this meal was assembled in minutes. The trick is not to puree all of the ingredients – you do this by taking the centre handle off the lid and inserting the plastic plug.
Vitamix Bolognaise Sauce Ingredients
3 raw carrots – I just break them in half
1 onion, halved
2 handfuls washed spinach
3 T. flax seeds
3 cloves peeled garlic
1 pound lean ground beef
1 can organic tomato sauce
2 T. oregano
1 T. thyme
salt and pepper
Method
1. Mix first 5 ingredients in the Vitamix using the stopper.
2. Place ground beef in a saucepan with herbs, and once brown, add the Vitamix contents.
3. Once carrots soften, pour in the tomatoes and simmer 5 minutes.
